My name is Keith Planche, Artistic Blacksmith. Welcome to K P Originals. Let me tell you a little about myself. I reside and work in Walker, Louisiana. That is about 20 miles east of Baton Rouge. My wife, Jerri, handles the paperwork and I handle the forging, welding and fabrication. It works better that way. I am a combination welder and fabricator. After about 18 years of working for the fabrication shops, I became interested in artistic blacksmithing. I started off by building my own forge, making a few items and my love for this work began. I have been hand forging for about 20 years. My work is hand forged the old traditional way with forge, hammer and anvil. It is built to last forever the same as in days gone by. The intricate designs and creations are endless. Also, aside from hand forging wrought iron and all types of alloys, I do custom leather work. This is also crafted by hand, all designs and trimmings. I incorporate leather and/or sinker cypress from the bottom of the bayous of south Louisiana with my iron work. I enjoy my work as you can tell by my designs and creations from the smallest candle holder to the largest spiral helix staircase.
